St. Croix Government Retirees meet Tuesday 1p.m. Cast Iron Pot Restaurant
Retired Ladies and Gentlemen of the Government Employees' Retirement System,
I wish all a blessed 2018 year!
This message is totally the position of Mary L. Moorhead, private citizen.
Activist as I was guided to be by my mother, I jumped into action some years back,
taking heavy criticism, trying to create this organization to advocate for the rights
of government retirees. There's been some downs, but there's been a lot of ups.
If you've been paying attention to the organization's activities, you will agree.
Retirees have to take a United, strong stand this year of election because somehow the
next generation blames us for the existence of the quagmire in VIG. So it seems that if anything is going to change, we, the Retirees, are going to have to initiate the change.
I know many of us have serious, personal, challenges, accentuated by Hurricanes Irma and Maria that we are fighting to overcome. Never forget the challenges our enslaved ancestors dealt with.
Retirees, bring a friend. It doesn't have to be a government retiree because if and when
GERS collapse, EVERYBODY is going to feel the blow. Dem retirees who socializing, partying, every third Wednesday of the month too. We all need to work together to
plan how to keep the check coming so they can party. We have to start talking now to
see what we can come up with to activate change.
Come meet Tuesday 1 p.m. at the Cast Iron Pot restaurant, let's talk because we
can't just sit waiting for VIG to fall down. It shall fall if GERS falls.
If ayo don't come full the room Tuesday, this definitely is the last email I send you.
Thank you.
