Dear UVI Alumni,
Today, may we all pause and take time to remember Martin Luther King, Jr. a heroic leader who raised his voice for equality and equal access for every American.
His work is not done and neither is ours. We continue to live his mission to educate, think critically about the challenges we face, and then stand strong and face them as individuals and as a community.
Just like you, Martin Luther attended an HBCUand is quoted saying, "Education must enable a man to become more efficient, to achieve with increasing facility the legitimate goals of his life."
UVI-Online Degree Programs
This brings me to my call to action for you on this day we honor Reverend King: UVI, your HBCU family, has worked very hard over the past four years to bring to its alumni and the world over 14 degree programs that are 100% online, accessed from anywhere at anytime. More are coming Soon. These programs are custom-designed for adults and adhere to our mission and yours to be the person you can become.
All students who further their education with UVI-Online promote our joint goal to equally enable each person to advance one's life and use that knowledge and integrity to help the world.
For the success of ourselves, our nation, and in continuation of the HBCU mission, I ask that you share the news of UVI-online programs with friends and family. A college degree opens a world of opportunity. Who do you know that needs that life-altering change and the intense support we provide along with it? Mostly, I ask that you consider an online degree for yourself. Go further than you have before and take your education to the next level.
Why UVI-Online? Be careful...not all things are equal
You've probably heard about many online programs offered at various colleges. Not only are our online courses designed specifically for adults in 8-week sessions, but we also have your own personalized student life coach who will work with you every step of the way from registration through graduation. We've made UVI-online programs more than adult-friendly. They are adult-customized. You may even be eligible for credit for life experiences from your workplace or hobbies.
How do I find out more?
Ms. Sharron Lucas of Level Playing Field Services is assisting us in spreading the news about these programs, and I encourage you to reach out to her in regards to questions, and sharing with her individuals we should contact about this new opportunity. You can reach her at info@online.uvi.edu. Please visit our soon to launch UVI Online website www.online.uvi.edu. It is currently in BETA.
We Have Overcome
Despite the challenges UVI has faced in regards to hurricanes Irma and Maria, we are poised to make the University even more meaningful and innovative in 2018 and beyond.
Our innovation has helped us to overcome natural disasters and plan for the future. Will you join us?
Thank you in advance for your continued support of The University of the Virgin Islands. May the spirit, words, and memory of Martin Luther King live on in each of us.
